Bob Rumpza
Board Member
Bob is the president of Rumpza Consulting, the public relations and marketing firm he founded in 2007.
Bob has worked inside non-profit organizations, corporations and communications agencies. His agency career includes: Global public relations firm Weber Shandwick (Executive Vice President of Corporate Relations); marketing communications agency Nicholson Kovac (Senior Vice President, Public Relations); and his own firm. He has designed and managed communications programs for dozens of clients, including The Toro Company, The Scotts Company, Land O’ Lakes, and Marvin Windows and Doors.
Bob held Communications Director positions at Control Data Corporation, The Pillsbury Company and Green Giant. He also was communications director and lobbyist for an agricultural organization.
He has had multiple community service roles for AmeriCorps volunteerism in Minnesota. He was a 20-year board member and past board chair for ServeMinnesota, the state commission for AmeriCorps. He chairs the board of directors for Ampact, which delivers AmeriCorps programs to thousands of Americans. He is a tutor for another AmeriCorps program, Reading Partners.
He chairs the Board of Advisors of Backpack, a University of Minnesota School of Journalism student organization. A graduate of the U of M School of Journalism, he was named an Alumnus of Notable Achievement by the University’s College of Liberal Arts.
