Welcome Families to Minnesota with Resettlement Corps

Since 2021, Minnesota welcomed more than 1,200 Afghan families and is currently welcoming families from Ukraine and other countries around the world. To better support these families building new lives in Minnesota, we’re proud to announce a new AmeriCorps program – Resettlement Corps!

“Last year, we quickly launched the Refugee Response Initiative in partnership with Minnesota’s Department of Human Services to support Afghans who had recently arrived in the state,” explains Julia Quanrud, Ampact Chief of Staff. “This new program really stems from that initiative and will allow us to meet critical needs and support even more families as they arrive.”

Resettlement Corps members will help families in a variety of ways, including relationship-building, educational guidance, housing support and legal process navigation. Members can choose to serve in one of three roles: Family Coach, Legal Services Navigator or Resettlement Housing Navigators. You can learn more about the positions here

Members will serve in full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time capacity (25 hours per week) beginning October 24, 2022:
