Reading & Math, Inc. Becomes Ampact

We are excited to share that Reading & Math, Inc. will now be known as Ampact! This rebrand is a huge milestone for our organization as it helps us align where we are today and where we’re going in the future.

You may have always known us as Reading & Math, Inc., but as we’ve grown, we’ve expanded beyond education to include programs focused on Healthy Futures and the Environment. With Recovery Corps, Heading Home Corps and Climate Impact Corps in the mix, the name Reading & Math, Inc. no longer represented the entirety of who we are and created confusion.

Ampact encompasses the amazing collective impact of our AmeriCorps members and our programs. With more than 2,000 members serving in communities across the country, the name represents the power of AmeriCorps and the incredible difference our members make. We love how the name is rooted in words like “amplify,” “action,” “activate” and “impact”— concepts that are so essential to who we are and what we do.

The Ampact rebrand contains three main elements: our logo, wordmark, and tagline. Our new icon is shaped as an upward arrow representing our efforts to drive positive change through all of our programs, and the center dot representing the people that power that momentum. We call it the Ampact A. Our new Ampact wordmark is bold, friendly, and approachable. The tagline, “AmeriCorps in Action” reinforces the connection to our people power and the amazing work that they do.

Each of our Ampact programs will also be getting an updated look including new logos and updated colors. For the first time, all our programs (Reading Corps, Math Corps, Early Learning Corps, Recovery Corps, Climate Impact Corps and Heading Home Corps) will share an icon. The forward arrow is inspired by our Ampact logo and represents moving forward and taking action.

Additionally, our Pre-K program has a new name that better reflects everything we do for our youngest learners as they get ready for kindergarten. Beginning this fall, members serving in Pre-K classrooms will be called Early Learning Tutors and will serve with Early Learning Corps (ELC). The program name is new, but the proven model and incredible impact will remain the same.

With this change we will continue to deliver excellent services to communities across the country, but now with a clean and modern look. Ampact creates a connection to all of our efforts and helps us tell a consistent story as a team. We are so excited to be Ampact and to start building our new identity as an organization, and we hope you are too. Take some time to check out our new websites at readingandmath.org and ampact.us and visit us on social media. We would love to hear what you think!
