Summer Impact Corps Mobilizes Hundreds to Get Things Done for Minnesota

To help meet critical community needs, in 2023 Ampact launched Summer Impact Corps, a new AmeriCorps program that focuses on getting things done for Minnesota. Partnering with schools, nonprofits, government and tribal agencies across the state, Summer Impact Corps will mobilize more than 450 people to provide academic support and enrichment for youth, address housing insecurity, and focus on engaging communities in mitigating climate change. 

While dedicating their summers to leadership through service, members will serve full-time (35-40 hours a week) for 12 weeks in one of three roles:   

• Youth Learning and Enrichment Fellows help lead summer learning activities designed to address the academic and social challenges that resulted from COVID-19. 

• Housing Stability Fellows provide support to individuals experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness and help connect them to resources. 

• Climate Resilience Fellows support a variety of projects designed to mitigate climate change and build community climate resilience. 

Throughout the summer, fellows will build their skills, experience community in new ways, and focus on an extraordinary mission—getting things done in Minnesota.  

Benefits include:  

• A stipend paid every 2 weeks ($6,600 total for summer)
