Partnering to expand to Poughkeepsie, New York

Community leaders from Lead for Poughkeepsie, Poughkeepsie Children's Cabinet, Poughkeepsie Children’s Cabinet, DAY ONE Early Learning Community, Astor Services, the Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh & Poughkeepsie, and the Poughkeepsie City School District met in Minnesota for program planning.

We are excited to announce that Math Corps and Early Learning Corps are expanding to another state – New York! Earlier this month, community leaders from Poughkeepsie visited Minneapolis to see the programs in action and plan for our New York launch.

After a year of work with leaders from Poughkeepsie, it was exciting to welcome them to Minnesota! “The visit included site visits, tutoring observations, sessions with our training and learning team as well as our researchers,” said Lizzie Morris Vogt, Director of Partnerships and Expansion. “It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, discuss and dive deeper into how we can work together to support Poughkeepsie’s vision for student success.”

The first cohort of tutors will begin supporting students this fall and 36 tutors are needed. To learn more and apply, please visit join.readingandmath.org
